Definition and declaration.

Non-hunting area is the protected area under the Category VI based on the MPAs classification system of IUCN, means the areas protected for habitat/species management. Non-hunting areas of Thailand were established under the Wildlife Preservation and Protection Act B.E. 2535, under the responsibility of the National Park, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation Department, Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment. The establishment aims to conserve the wildlife habitats that support their subsistence activities such as breeding and nesting areas, nursery grounds, food sources, temporary habitats for migration etc. (Niwat, B.E.2546; Anuwat, B.E. 2551)
